Part of a global chain, the Benihana in Beverly Hills is visited often by locals and tourists alike. Situated in the bustling "Restaurant Row", you can dine right where the action is. Japanese style chicken, seafood, steak preparations and tasty side dishes are what they offer. Sake, beer, wine and cocktails are available in the casual lounge area. Hand over your car keys to the valet and watch the chefs do what they do best. The cuisine may not be very creative and the ambience may not be so amazing, but the delicious food is exactly what you pay for.

Open since 1996, this club serves a wide variety of food besides sushi. The chef is a world-renowned master who has cooked for Steven Spielberg and other celebrities. Here you will find everything from pizza and pasta to chicken and hamburgers. Located in an old firehouse, the floor is made of old bowling lanes and the interior is done up in heavy brick and steel. The clientele ranges from people in their mid-30s to mid-50s. A full bar is available and a Happy Hour is held every evening, during which all sushi is half price.

Situated in the heart of Beverly Hills, Global-Dining Inc. finally opened their first Japanese restaurant in America. The restaurant is built inspired from the streets of in Japan as it blend with actual houses, 300 year old, made out from fine wood with caving details. It has several levels that overlook the garden with the sushi bar surrounded by semiprivate dining rooms and a sake tasting area. You will be able to taste the original Japanese cuisine, serving soba noodles to open-flame sumiyaki.

Enjoy fresh top-grade tuna or hamachi from sushi master Hiro Nishimura. With a bamboo-and-cane motif, the Hump (the WWII pilots' name for the Himayalas) has an exotic look and feel. Platters of raw fish are arranged beautifully on handcrafted platters. Ask for the daily specials, which feature the day's freshest fish. Specialties like Abalone with fat Shiitake Mushrooms or a Bahamian-style Conch Shell filled with conch meat in a savory broth are always excellent. The dining room is quite small, so if you plan on coming on a weekend, make sure to make your reservations at least a week in advance. If you come during the week, calling earlier in the day for that same night should be sufficient.

This serene and gentle eatery offers L.A.'s best Pacific New Wave. It has enjoyed top success, landing on many top-ten lists for food in town. Owner-host Andy Nakano will greet you with a small offering of fine sake poured from a chilled pitcher. Then settle in and enjoy one of many unusual and appealing appetizers. Specialties include Calamari Salad with Lemon grass and JalapeƱo dressing and Sonoma Quail with a Tangerine Glaze. Also featured are more kinds of sake than you ever knew existed for $7 and up. Far from the usual noisy and crowded restaurants in town, this is a tranquil and special change of pace.

Since the 1980s, this place has been considered one of the best Japanese restaurants in Santa Monica. If you stick to the lobster, shrimp, sushi and other fish dishes, you are sure to be served a very tasty meal. The Lobster Hand Roll is especially popular, and it contains fresh lobster and a fine blend of vegetables. Beer, wine and sake are available, and diners should ask about the popular "Laser Show." Parking is free for one hour during lunch hours, and valet parking is also available. The restaurant is located one block west of the Third Street Promenade, at the corner of Second Street and Santa Monica Boulevard.

Tokyo Table's look is sleek and modern with interesting light fixtures and hardwood floors. Their specialty cocktails include blushing geisha and a sake drink called Aiko, or "beloved." Don't leave without sampling amandine's Cake of the Day!
